A training journal...
...is an absolute must. Whether you do it in an Excel spreadsheet, a phone app or on an old-fashioned piece of paper, it is very important, because it allows you to track your training. By tracking your training, you build a database from which you can then learn what works best for you. Not to mention how looking at your journal from a year ago and seeing how far you've come is a great source of pride and confidence.
